Like most guys, I had never heard of the ritual of bringing food to new parents until we had Milo and people started showing up with food. My sister-in-law brought us enchiladas and lasagna and another friend of ours brought Greek chicken and healthy sides. We had some family over for dogs on the grill, and they left us with more beans and coleslaw and cake and a beer and I don’t know what all else. I went to the store knowing we would be stuck at home for a while, but rather than eating our money-food, we are eating all this delicious free stuff. Tastes like generosity.
Thanks to all the family and friends who have taken care of us and our house and dog during this time, I don’t know what we would have done without all of you. Probably we would be drowning from our dripping toilet under a pile of pizza boxes and dirty pans.
Knowing now that Jenn’s brother and sister-in-law are expecting (congrats) We’re going to have to start thinking of some tasty dishes to bring them.
Next weekend my own parents will finally make it and we are very much looking forward to the help. More than that, we are looking forward to spending quality time and having fun and Asian King Buffet.
Mmmmmm. . . . buffet.
